This blog is about…

The river. Dogs. People I am certain are unlike any you have met. Endurance athletics. The river is a metaphor for life. Pay attention. You don’t want to miss anything.

Look around at some old posts – there are some neat pictures, especially if you like birds and animals and dogs and trains.

This site is off to a good start! I might move around a bit of text, but that’s all I’d want to change, which puts your website ahead of 96% of the other websites out there. A few suggestions:

    1) Contact page? Email address, reply form, links to your Facebook profile, Twitter, Myspace, AIM, Skype, or whatever you use that’s relevant. You want to make it very easy for your audience to get in touch with you. Or stalk you, if that’s their preference.

    2) The blog should be moved off of the home page and onto its own page. I know that, for now at least, this is chiefly a blog site, and there’s not a whole lot else to put on the home page right now, but if you keep the blog on your front page, you’re assigning more weight to your blog than to any other content which you might eventually want to put on your site.

    3) The blurb on the “this blog is about” page seems like it would fit better on your Home Page. Or just lose it entirely. It’s mostly redundant anyway, since you have a similar blurb in the top-right corner of every page.

  2. Excellent response Justin – this is precisely the sort of feedback I’m looking for. I spent a lot of time agonizing over what my blog would look like – but I didn’t do anything. Finally I just decided to put it up, and work out the kinks as I go along. Like our lives, it’s a work in progress. I’ll be integrating some of your suggestions as time (and my skill level!) allows. Thanks and have a great day,

    Jay
